I knew this was veneer when I purchased it, I just didn't expect the corners and edges along the top of the coffee table to already be pealing. We just use it as anybody would a table. Coasters for beverages. Holds the remote when we're not using it. I also use it to hold my laptop while I'm working. Anyway, I've attached a pic of what the edge looks like on the table. If you have plans to put it where it will get a ton of use, more than we give it, it's probably best to rethink your decision or just be prepared for damage to appear rather quickly.
