The color of this tray is beautiful. It's slightly iridescent, which doesn't show up in the picture. It does exactly what I wanted it to, which is to give a hard surface to the top of an ottoman so I could set my drink on it. If course, being a small tray, it's also very versatile and movable. It makes me happy whenever I look at it!I did research as most all do and some other products had chipping and other issues. Decided on this verses others and it turns out to be PERFECT in all manner. I originally thought about a typical rectangular one but realized that would not work for my current needs.This tray was the same size as some smaller round ones I already had for the kitchen so I could “test” it for size and thus know roughly what it might be like for my bedside tray. I was actually going to use one of those for the bed tray but this color was so beautiful I decided to use it as my bed tray! I have very little space so everything had to be fairly exact.Orange!!! Well, it's amazing color-wise - the orange just makes me smile - it's such a lively bright color. I put a paper towel down before my oval under plate and topper plate and all fits. Seems solid as to the manufacturing. No paint flakes or chips. I just wipe it clean.Large enough to hold ample amounts, but small enough to fit in many places (in my teeny space). The circle shape means it fits most places I need it to fit without corners poking out and me bumping into to the tray.I can put it on my lap when "eating in bed" (oops) late at night watching DVD’s, and then lay it on the square side tray near my bed - it fits! While working on my PC I put it on top of a pull out tray-drawer and it fits! I realize now that any rectangular size would have been an inappropriate choice for such a small place!I am so very happy that this ended up being my choice and thank all who did reviews to help me make that decision. (Another oops! I ate the many small TACOs I going to shoot it with!!! )This is THE perfect size, shape and gorgeous color (navy blue) I wanted for my new tea for one set. However, there were a couple of tiny, visible bubbles in the lacquered finish...they were really quite small,..but when china and cutlery start sliding over the surface it will only be a matter of time before they will crack open and then begin to peel and flake. Also, on the bottom there was a rough spot dead center which, even though the lacquered finish was applied to the back, the lacquer alone could not smooth out the roughness, which I suspect was the result of the casting process. It should have been buffed out before applying lacquer. It's just raised enough to mar the surface of my tables. So, I rewrapped the tray with the bubble wrap and popped it back into its box. I requested a replacement and within a matter of hours it was approved. Two days later the new one arrived. I was so impressed...had not even made it to the return drop off with the first one. But I'm sorry to report the next one had the same issues...3 or 4 tiny, but visible bubbles in the finish and the rough spot on the back. I did return the first one, but for the time being I'll just use doilies or napkins under the dishes and utensils and set the tray on placemats to keep from scratching that surface. It is the perfect color, and size but if you are looking for a flawless finish don't get your hopes up. For $20 and some strategic use of linens no one will know or notice, except me of course.Love my decorative tray, looks great and serves its purpose.perfect size for what I needed, deeper than the plastic competitors, easy to break due to materials used to make this product. compressed saw dust has its problems. Handle cracked with a minor bump, easily fixed with super glue.A cute tray, love the color and little cutout handles. The gold trim adds a cute touch.It’s is very pretty and great value for the money. I was looking for something to put things in my bathroom rack above the toilet that had a solid surface. This also adds a pop of color.So many times with purchases what you get in terms of quality and color can be so different than what is shown on Amazon. This serving tray however is spot on! I love it.The color is exactly as bright and bold as shown on Amazon. It matches my decor.
