Easy to assemble, great and nice design. The color was not what I excepted but it’s nice (not white/white)Handy little table. Was hoping it would be true white. This accent table offers good storage for small spaces.Ameriwood Home Fairmont Accent Table, BlackI got this table primarily to hold a small fish tank. Haven’t gotten the fish tank set up yet, but the table is up – and my verdict is ready. And that verdict is…only OK. There are some nice assets to this piece, and it’s not junk, but it’s only average quality and appearance considering the price listed (a little over one hundred seventy five dollars at time of review).I’ll break this down for ease of review. What I liked about it: First, the look. It is genuinely nice looking, with a nice black finish and elegant design. It does not feel like it’s extremely cheap or discount box store level cheap, although it also doesn’t feel top quality. More mid-range. The storage is useful and it’s not so large or loud as to dominate the space I set it in. I also found the assembly easy; all the parts are in a container where they are separated by letter, and I followed the directions just fine. The sturdiness of the piece is also good, although not perfect; it didn’t shake or feel as if it were going to fall apart when I moved it around and picked it up.Next. My dislikes and “not so great” thoughts: first, while the instructions were decently easy to follow, they still had some confusing elements; for example, in my set the screws were mislabeled in the instructions vs the container they were stored in. I managed to figure it out by reviewing the size of the screws instead of following the labeled letters, but it still took me a second to realize what was going on. I also found some parts difficult to add; for example, the screw holes for the door were too small and it took a little bit of finagling and elbow grease to get them to work. Next, the piece is decent but honestly not THAT high quality considering it costs almost two hundred dollars. From what I could tell none of the parts are solid wood and the paint did scratch just a little during assembly, so I assume it isn’t that durable.Overall, I don’t think the piece is that bad, but I do think it is more average. If it was at a lower price point I would be willing to rate it a little higher but as it is right now it’s just a little overpriced for what you get.Overall I like this accent table pretty well. I chose it to use in our living room, near the front door, where members of my family tend to deposit things like hats, gloves, masks, and other things of this nature. This small table is a much nicer place for these items than our main dining table where these things often ended up before. The top of the table works well for shorter-term storage of these things, while the cupboard below offers a longer-term storage area for less frequently-used items. The installation was very straightforward, requiring less than an hour. The instructions were mostly quite good; I noticed one step of the instructions that mentioned a higher quantity of a particular part than was really required, but upon further inspection it became obvious that this was a misprint. Other than that there was no confusion putting it together. The hinged door on the front was a bit off-kilter in the unit we received: the gap at the top of the door was noticeably larger than the gap at the bottom. Everything still functions but it looked a bit wrong. A bit of padding behind one of the hinges corrected this defect. All in all this is a very adequate table. I give it four stars out of five because of the small imperfections I mentioned, but it's still a solid product.- EricThis is well packaged, so I believe the damage I saw was before it got packaged. There was nicks and chunks missing, but all in areas that you normally wouldn't see with the exception of one shelf unit. The door had damage on the inside area, where a grinding chunk was taken out of it. (You could see that there was a skipping scrapping pattern leading up to a chuck being taken out.) Once assembled, you would only see that missing piece if you opened the door, but otherwise, exterior wise, this looks amazing. I am still rating it 4 stars, because it looks amazing, is easy to assemble, and sturdy. I feel like I am being generous here, as I know some people would get really mad, but I am happy with it and rating it based on what it does for me despite not being absolutely perfect. It was also a good value when I was looking at the price. We use this in the copy room of our office to hold extra paper and supplies. It is nice looking and sturdy enough for our needs, but not super heavy duty. The table came wrapped in an obscene amount of plastic and foam to protect the paint and edges in transit. I found it quite easy to assemble (the eight wooden pegs didn't fit snugly in the holes and were misnumbered in the instructions, but with the pictures, it was quite clear how to put it together and I think the pegs still serve their purpose even if a little loose since the cam bolts are really what hold the piece together). Two of the feet had somehow come loose in the packaging and the paint on them was a little damaged, but I just put those in the back where they won't be seen anyway. It is nice that the door can be installed to open either way (there are separate pages in the instructions to show how to do it each way). The magnetic latch is not super strong, but it works all right for what we need. This accent table was easy to assemble with all the parts labeled. An Allen wrench was included but not needed, a screw driver was needed instead (not included). Instructions were easy to follow, I had no issue putting this together all by myself.Although I do like the way how it looks as a finished product, the magnet for the door isn’t very strong so it doesn’t close securely and it’s easy for it to swing open by itself sometimes. The door is reversible so you can screw in the latch according to whether you prefer the door to open from the left or right side. I placed it at the bottom of my stairs towards the entryway. The shelves fits all the essentials I need and looks like a beautiful piece of furniture.
